interview for double page spread

Rough layout for double page spread

Planning Production

Front cover images:

For the front page I want the main image to be a person with a guitar pretending to smash it up and i think that this picture will look good as the front image. I will want the person to be wearing a suit but in an alleyway to add tension as the person will be all smart but they will be in a dark, wet and dirty place smashing the guitar. The person will have slick back hair with a pair of black glasses.

The shot types that I want is a medium shot type and this is were you can only see the top half of the person’s body.

Cover lines:

The cover lines that I will use will be:

·         Heading for the clouds – up on cloud nine

·         You looking at me – spitting image

·         Hit Them Hard – show them your power

·         Smash to death – kill them softly

·         Application Generation explode

Text for the contents page:

Text for my contents page i will have an L shape for the text and the picture will go in the middle of the L shape. The text will be all around the side and at the bottom of the page and around the pictures as well.

Images:

The images that I will want to use are-

·         A person with a microphone posing, i want them to be bent backwards as if they are doing a big, high note.

·         Someone standing in a karate position and this will link to the cover line ‘hit them hard’

·         I would like someone sat on their own with people in the back ground but the people are blurry in the back.

·         Someone with a guitar wanting to smash it up in the ally way, but I can just get them to go onto the street in the school playground.

·         A ginger person pretending to be Hayley from Paramore with a plain background, i will have their hair over their `face.

The article that will be writing about on the double page spread will be on the band Application Generation and they will be in the studios where they practise, pictures when they are playing in a gig and pictures of what they do when they aren’t being ‘Application Generation’.

The article is going to be about how they have become famous in the local band industry and what they struggled with and what they would want to do in the future.

I will have different images of the lead singer and the band where they are standing different on them.

On the front cover i will have a picture of the main singer and with the phrase ‘Application Generation Explode’.

Production Plan

Title: SMASH

Positioning Statement: By Us, For You

Frequency of Publication: Monthly

Price: £3.50

Distribution: Newsagents, Supermarket and Music shops

Rationale: This magazine is all about new indie music and all of the gigs. We will have interviews with the best indie bands and singers and you can be the first one to read it.

Style: The style of the magazine is funny and will include 'puns' and wordplay, informal as it’s for younger people, short paragraphs and slang. The magazine will contain a lot of information about indie bands.
